How to solve GPG warning about apt/aptitude repository update

Image
When you add a repository in your /etc/apt/sources.list and run a apt-update you'll get the update of the newly added repository but also a warning about a GPG key like the following one : Hit http://ppa.launchpad.net intrepid/main Sources Hit http://fr.archive.ubuntu.com intrepid-proposed/universe Packages Hit http://ppa.launchpad.net intrepid/main Packages Fetched 309B in 0s (519B/s) Reading package lists... Done W: GPG error: http://ppa.launchpad.net intrepid Release: The following signatures couldn't be verified because the public key is not available: NO_PUBKEY D702BF6B8C6C1EFD W: You may want to run apt-get update to correct these problems Running again apt-update won't solve the issue. This warning can be safely ignored, but I don't like to leave warning when there is a solution to get rid of it... because when something is going wrong, it would complicate to sort out what is safe to be ignored and what tells about a real issue. So, to get rid of this warning her...

Developping with googleMaps everywhere with the same licence id

When you want to use google maps on a website, you need to signup and get a key for the internet domain name that will use google Maps. When your developing your googleMaps feature, it's not on the production site with the final url. (At least... I hope it's not so ;) And you may code some google feature for several sites, and all these sites, you often code it on your computer with a local Apache/Php or Tomcat server. So in you html (jsp, php, asp whatever) page you'll include the following code to have access to the google maps feature. <!-- google map --> <script type="text/javascript" src="http://maps.google.com/maps?file=api&v=2&key=A...5g"> </script> A simple trick, is to request a key for a fake domain here : http://code.google.com/apis/maps/signup.html Let's say, for "http://toms-projects" Get the key, put it in your html code, and then edit your etc/hosts file. (/etc/hosts on linux, c:\windows\system32\...

The blogger editor to write a new post on your blog is damn small... and on my 24" screen, it's even more sad... all this space wasted... How to get rid of Windows Restart notification after installing updates

Windows XP is (reeaallyy) often updated for security reasons, and after installing these updates, you have to restart your computer... (Linux doesn't have this flaw !) But I always want to postpone this restart because I'm working on my computer (really :op) and I've a lot of things open (Eclipse, RSA(sadely), Firefox with loads of tabs etc...) So, once the update installation is finished, I click the 'Close' button instead of 'Restart Computer' button... and from this moment on I'll get disturb every 10 minutes or so with a popup that steal the focus of the application I'm working on... and really... it pisses me off ! It's annoying and can be dangerous for your work, as sometimes I was just about to click in the area where the restart button is when the popup suddenly appears, which make restart the computer while I had some unsaved editors open or something else at work... grrrrr.... So what's the solution to that ? A crack, registry hac...
